Carnaval Kick · Race 67 is Rio de Janeiro's race in the racing world, HOVER RACE: Rio at sunset, to VYKR's We Are Free — eight hovercars on a glass-walled track over the city, two laps at up to 410 km/h boosting. From the grid over Copacabana's black and white wave promenade, the Sugarloaf ahead over the sea, left at Urca and up Morro da Urca under the cable cars to the crest's big jump beside the Sugarloaf; along Santa Teresa's hillside over five colourful roofs in a row, the fourth a big one; down beside the tiled Escadaria Selarón, single file along the top of the Arcos da Lapa beside the yellow tram, round inside the Maracanã's bowl over the pitch and down the Sambódromo's parade avenue under the Apoteose arch, home at Arpoador. The carnival floats come out after the first lap and fireworks burst over the city on the last; the Christ statue watches from Corcovado. STEER drives it by hand (tilt the phone like a wheel, the on-screen wheel, ← → or a controller); AUTO keeps the one-touch race. The Grand Prix races everyone to the flag for points by place; Elimination races three laps, the two slowest out at each lap line. Five crowns hang high over the Sugarloaf's crest and Santa Teresa's big roof, four of them on the Grand Prix's two laps, only for a car still boosting as it flies.
