Tower Rush · Race 67 is London's race in the racing world, HOVER RACE: round the Thames at dusk in the rain, to VYKR's Cut the Pulse — eight hovercars on a glass-walled track, two laps, faster than ever (410 km/h boosting). From the grid on Westminster Bridge under Big Ben's lit clock faces, right along Victoria Embankment with the London Eye across the water and the first big jump, down through Temple into the Underground's round iron tube and a station's tiles, up out of the ground at St Paul's and over its steps, through the City between the Gherkin and the Walkie-Talkie, and over Tower Bridge with its bascules raised: the deck runs up the north one and throws the car across the gap between the towers. Home along the South Bank past HMS Belfast, the Shard and Tate Modern. Six jumps a lap, coins spread over the whole deck. STEER drives it by hand (tilt the phone like a wheel, the on-screen wheel, ← → or a controller); AUTO keeps the one-touch race. The Grand Prix races everyone to the flag for points by place; Elimination races three laps, the two slowest out at each lap line. Five crowns hang high over the Embankment and Tower Bridge jumps, three of them on the Grand Prix's two laps, only for a car still boosting as it flies.
